Oscars 2023: PM greets 'RRR', 'The Elephant Whisperers' teams for winning Oscars

After the success of their song “Naatu! Naatu!” from the Telugu movie “RRR,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked M.M. Keeravani and lyricist Chandra Bose on Monday.

Modi also expressed his congratulations to the cast and crew of the documentary “The Elephant Whisperers” for taking home the award for “Best Documentary Short Film” at the Oscars.

“Exceptional! The popularity of ‘Naatu Naatu’ is global. It will be a song that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani, @boselyricist and the entire team for this prestigious honour,” Modi tweeted after “Naatu! Naatu!” won the award.

He continued by saying that the nation is “elated and proud” of their accomplishment.

The producer Guneet Monga and her crew won the Oscar for their documentary, “The Elephant Whisperers,” which the prime minister also wished success to.

“Congratulations to @EarthSpectrum, @guneetm and the entire team of ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ for this honour. Their work wonderfully highlights the importance of sustainable development and living in harmony with nature,” Modi tweeted.

Two Indian productions have won Oscars for the first time in history. In Los Angeles, the 95th Academy Awards ceremony took place earlier in the day.

At the 95th Academy Awards, Tollywood is honouring Rajamouli’s epic film “RRR” for its groundbreaking success. Following the announcement of the Best Original Song award on Monday, several Telugu film superstars and actors complimented the “RRR” crew.

“Congratulations to the entire team of ‘RRR’ movie on bringing Indian cinema glory,” tweeted veteran Tollywood director K. Raghavendra Rao under whose tutelage Rajamouli had begun his movie career.”

“And there you go… NAATU NAATU!! Crossing all boundaries!! Congratulations to @mmkeeravaani garu, @boselyricist and the entire team of #RRR on their phenomenal win at the Oscars!! A jubilant moment for Indian cinema,” stated Tollywood star Mahesh Babu. He also praised ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ team and also praised “Congratulations to the entire team of #TheElephantWhisperers on winning the Best Documentary Short…a fantastic film and another phenomenal win”.

“We’ve created history. An unforgettable day for Indians,” stated Tollywood’s Mass Maharaja, Ravi Teja.

On Monday, Pawan Kalyan, a celebrity and politician who also happens to be Ram Charan’s uncle, praised the “RRR” crew. Balakrishna, NTR Jr.’s celebrity uncle, too expressed his joy at “Naatu Naatu” gaining international popularity.
