Manufacturing in India is now 87 percent favorable as a place to work: Report
According to a survey released on Thursday, the percentage of people who believe that manufacturing is a great place to work has increased to 87% in 2025, and workers in the greatest workplaces in India are 2.7 times more likely to remain in psychologically healthy surroundings.
According to the Great Place To Work study, as India’s manufacturing sector moves closer to Industry 5.0, it is more important than ever for businesses to put their employees’ welfare and technological innovation first.
“As Industry 5.0 progresses, the emphasis is shifting from smarter machinery to creating work environments that put employees’ well-being first. Organizations are using measures to increase employee engagement, promote work-life balance, and make leaders more approachable in an effort to counteract employee burnout“, said Balbir Singh, CEO of Great Place To Work, India.
Leaders are creating a culture of psychological safety and trust, and when workers feel appreciated, they are 2.7 times more likely to stick around. Organizations must empower their staff and listen to them constantly in order to overcome obstacles and influence the direction of the sector,” he continued.
According to the survey, difficulties still exist even when businesses work to create inclusive and positive cultures. Employee voices constantly emphasize the need for greater action in the areas of care, psychological safety, and equitable growth.
In response, Best Workplaces have introduced flexible shifts to meet the needs of their employees, ensured equitable task distribution, and put in place systems for regular feedback.
These businesses have implemented flexible work arrangements, increased paid time off, and established leadership and career development opportunities for their corporate and company workers.
In order to accommodate the various demands of their teams, they have also increased the scope of their benefits packages to include wellness initiatives, interest-free loans, bonuses, and a wider range of support networks, according to the research.
According to the research, Apollo Tyres (NSE:APLO), Orient Cement, Tata Steel (NSE:TISC) India, Amara Raja Power Systems, Sula Vineyards (NSE:SULA), and Bajaj Energy are a few of the top manufacturing workplaces that have been recognized for their outstanding culture and employee satisfaction.
According to the research, “these businesses are dedicated to creating an environment where employees thrive, grow, and feel valued—they are not just focused on producing goods.”
