T20 World Cup: Plans at ICC Fan-focused digital experiences include engaging Hindi social media content and AI-produced videos

Cricket fans worldwide will be able to enjoy a variety of exclusive digital experiences during the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies, including dedicated Hindi language social media channels on Facebook and Instagram, radio commentary, direct-to-fan streaming, and AI-produced video clips.

A number of cutting-edge digital initiatives were unveiled by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday with the goal of enticing and rewarding cricket enthusiasts worldwide in advance of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024. Through these measures, the thrill of the event will be accessible to a larger number of fans in more countries than before.

“We are developing separate Hindi language social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram in an attempt to reach our broad clientele. The ICC said in a release on Thursday that this will give Hindi-speaking fans customized information, updates, and unique insights into the competition – including Hindi language highlights for all India and knockout matches.

“This will complement the content produced at matches and in our digital hub in Barbados around the clock, ensuring fans receive the latest updates, highlights, and behind-the-scenes footage throughout the tournament,” said a release.

Direct-to-fan streaming will be available on ICC.tv for the first time in 83 regions, including Afghanistan, Nepal, the Netherlands, Japan, and Germany. There will be unparalleled access to live matches, highlights, and exclusive content for fans in these areas.

Through the ICC website and app, the ICC will also stream live radio commentary from our licensee, the BBC, throughout the world.

“Additionally, we are launching an entirely new t20worldcup.com website and Mobile app, placing video content at the centre,” the International Cricket Council said.

The best T20 World Cup experience will be brought to fans’ homes via these digital platforms, which combine AI-produced video snippets with top-notch on-location video features.

“Fans will receive rewards for their digital actions with our new ICC Fan Passport, which was created as part of our collaboration with the NEAR Foundation. The ICC stated that fans can improve their T20 World Cup experience by earning points and unlocking goodies by participating in our Roblox integrations or forecasting match results.

Additionally, it invited cricket enthusiasts to demonstrate their expertise with a brand-new prediction game. Fans can score more points the earlier they offer predictions, such as who will win Player of the Match. Fans will be even more excited to follow the event thanks to this interactive game.

“FanCraze, our digital collectibles partner, is going to release a Web3 fantasy-style game that revolves around ICC Crictos. In other gaming news, the ICC stated, “We are thrilled to announce that the ICC Fan Zone will be integrated into three of the biggest Roblox games, giving our younger fans an immersive experience.”

“The hundreds of millions of fans who love our game but are unable to attend in person are our target audience, and the ICC Digital department always strives to show them what it’s like to be at our amazing events.” Finn Bradshaw, Head of Digital at ICC, stated that these initiatives will not only make these experiences available to a wider audience but also reward the most engaged fans.
