At the new Nalanda University campus’s Wednesday opening in the Rajgir region of Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to it as a “symbol of India’s vibrant cultural exchange and academic heritage.”

“Children were not admitted to ancient Nalanda on the basis of their identity or their nationality. There are youth from every class in every country here. In this new campus of Nalanda University, we have to strengthen the same ancient system again in a modern form, and I am happy to see that many students have started coming here from many countries of the world today,” PM Modi stated.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said: “Today, I am very happy to see that Nalanda University has become fully functional. Currently, 400 students from 17 countries are studying here.”

“All the buildings and campus for the university have expanded a lot and have also become very beautiful. I am thankful to PM Narendra Modi who came and inaugurated the new campus,” Nitish Kumar added.

Mohan Charan Majhi, a tribal leader and four-time MLA from Keonjhar, will take office as Odisha’s new chief minister on Wednesday. This is the state where the BJP has made its maiden electoral victory.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that 52-year-old Majhi had been unanimously elected as the leader of the legislature party, clearing the door for him to become the Chief Minister, after a gathering of recently elected BJP MLAs at the party headquarters here.

Legislators Surama Padhi, Laxman Bag, Rabinarayan Nayak, and Prithiviraj Harichandan seconded the idea as Majhi’s name was put out for the Chief Minister position, and other MLAs backed it.

“Delighted to announce that Shri Mohan Charan Manjhi has been elected unanimously as the leader of Odisha BJP Legislature Party. He is a young and dynamic party karyakarta who will take the state forward on road to progress and prosperity as the new Chief Minister of Odisha. Many congratulations to him,” Rajnath Singh posted on X.

The former scion of the Balangir royal family, Patnagarh MLA Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and Nimapara MLA Pravati Parida were also named deputy chief ministers by the BJP.

According to Prasar Bharati, national broadcaster Doordarshan will stream the T20 World Cup, which is being held in the USA and the West Indies, on the DD Free Dish platform on Monday.

Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, wrote on X, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi on his victory in India’s elections, which has seen him secure an unprecedented third term. Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, wrote, “Congratulations Prime Minister Modi Ji @narendramodi on your laudable victory for a historic third term. Maldivian leaders also extended their congratulations to PM Modi for his third term.

Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, wrote, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi, and the BJP and BJP-led NDA, on the success in the 2024 Indian General Election, for the third consecutive term.”

“I look forward to working together to advance our shared interests in pursuit of shared prosperity and stability for our two countries,” Muizzu added.

“Congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi and @BJP4India on your victory in the elections. I look forward to strengthening and enhancing the relationship and cooperation between our nations under your esteemed leadership,” tweeted the Vice President of Maldives, Hussain Mohamed Latheef.

“My warmest congratulations to Hon PM @narendramodi for winning a third term of office. I have no doubt this will be another term of warm and great Maldives-India friendship,” said Mohamed Nasheed, former President of Maldives.

Congratulating PM Modi and lauding India for its commitment to democracy, former Maldivian President Abdulla Shahid said, “Congratulations to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi on being re-elected for a historic third term. Sri Lankan MP Sarath Fonseka, congratulating PM Modi, tweeted, “Thank you, Prime Minister Narendra Modi @narendramodi, the ties between our two great countries are indeed special, and I can assure you that the people of Sri Lanka are more than keen to explore areas of close cooperation where we can pursue a shared vision for shared prosperity.”

Leader of Opposition in Sri Lanka, Sajith Premadasa, took to X and wrote, “Congratulations to PM @narendramodi ji and NDA on a historic win. We look forward to being inspired by a new chapter of big decisions for India and another chapter of India’s “Neighborhood First Policy.”

Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, wrote, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @narendramodi as he prepares to embark on a historic third term as India’s head of government.”
