India is developing its digital health infrastructure
According to Union Minister of State for Health and Ayush Minister, Prataprao Jadhav, the government is extending the digital health infrastructure under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and enhancing main health services via health and wellness centers.
Additionally, he noted that “we are also expanding immunization efforts, introducing new vaccines, and making disease surveillance systems more effective. ”
The minister spoke at an event organized by the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW) here, stressing the need for improving public health infrastructure and emphasizing the role of NIHFW in training qualified health workers and promoting national health programs.
Dr. Sunita Sharma, the Director General of Health Services (DGHS), praised the institute for its ongoing efforts in promoting public health research, education, and policy support for the government.
The institute, she said, has been instrumental in improving the skills of India’s healthcare workforce and ensuring the successful rollout of national health initiatives.
Dr. Sunil Vilasrao Gitte, the Director of the NIHFW, spoke during his speech about the institute’s main accomplishments from the previous year, which included improvements in research projects, public health education, and partnerships aimed at enhancing the nation’s health systems.
The institute’s yearly publications, “Dharna“, the HPPI Journal, and “Prospects of Placement Cell,” were officially released by the dignitaries during the occasion.
The ministry claims that exceptional workers, students, and sports achievers were also given awards to honor their commitment and talent. Students presented cultural performances at the celebration as well, showcasing the institute’s vibrant academic atmosphere.
