With the title “Unfiltered Naari,” Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan’s Gujarati first play “Fakt Mahilao Maate” has now been seen by Hindi audiences.
The film, which was directed by Jay Bodas, tells the story of Chintan Parikh, a young guy. Chintan is overwhelmed by all the women in his life and is given the ability to comprehend women better than anybody else.
As the father of Chintan, the main character, Big B made a special appearance in the drama.
“Gujarati cinema is going through a really exciting phase right now — we’re seeing a wave of fresh storytelling, rooted in our culture but universal in its themes,” said Yash Soni, who plays Chintan in “Unfiltered Naari.” One such movie was Fakt Mahilao Maate, which provoked discussions about the struggles faced by women in daily life in addition to providing entertainment. The Gujarati audience responded overwhelmingly to this unique combination of heart, humor, and wisdom.
“Unfiltered Naari, the Hindi-dubbed version of the film, is giving this story a fresh lease on life and a far larger platform, in my opinion. This is one of the numerous regional films that should be able to transcend language barriers. Because it reflects our common experiences, I hope the Hindi-speaking audience finds it just as compelling, not simply because of the plot or the message. The protagonist continued, “I’m excited that more people will now be able to be part of this journey because it’s a film made with sincerity and purpose.”
With a prominent ensemble that includes Yash Soni, Amitabh Bachchan, Deeksha Joshi, Tarjanee Bhadla, Bhavini Jani, Kalpana Gagdekar, Chetan Daiya, Vaishakh Rathod, Deep Vaidya, and Om Bhatt in key roles, “Unfiltered Naari” is supported by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah.
ShemarooMe presents “Unfiltered Naari” starting on July 10.
