In his first address after taking office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President C. Joseph Vijay expressed his gratitude to the public for their trust and vowed a corruption-free administration, transparent governance, women’s safety, and a welfare-oriented administration in an emotionally and politically charged speech.
Shortly after being sworn in at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Vijay spoke to a large audience and stated that he came from humble beginnings and was not born into political privilege.
He started by saying hello to everyone who lives in my heart and then went on to describe his long journey from the film industry into politics. He said he knew hunger and poverty firsthand since his father was an assistant film director.
I don’t come from a royal political family. I’m one of you. I feel like your brother, your son, and your little sibling. You brought me to this place because you shared my sentiments, he explained.
In his first address as Chief Minister, the newly sworn-in Chief Minister broke down as he expressed his gratitude to the populace for supporting him during times of political assaults, humiliation, and criticism. The overwhelming public support, according to him, had turned C. Joseph Vijay from an individual into a bigger political reality.
Tamil Nadu has a debt burden of close to Rs 10 lakh crore, and Vijay acknowledged that the state is in a terrible financial situation. After thoroughly researching the administration from the inside, he claimed that the entire scope of the financial situation could be understood.
Before making any significant choices, he stated, “I will publish a white paper about the state’s financial situation. ” Vijay emphasized the mandate as a significant responsibility and promised that his administration would prioritize healthcare, road infrastructure, the supply of drinking water, the distribution of rations, the safety of women, and the eradication of narcotics.
All eight crore citizens of Tamil Nadu are my people, regardless of whether they are my friends or foes, he stated.
In a forceful message against corruption, Vijay pledged that under his leadership, not a single paisa of taxpayer cash would be misused.
Vijay will not make a mistake, and he will not tolerate any misconduct, he said.
In his statement to his political opponents, he also urged those who thought they could use political tricks to destabilize the government to give up such notions.
He emphasized that the area has just one center of authority.
Vijay stated that the new government is a fresh start for Tamil Nadu, and he ended his address by thanking women, young people, farmers, instructors, government workers, fishermen, children, alliance partners, and TVK members.
