
After days of waiting for engineering candidates nationwide, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has been released the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026.
Arohi Deshpande took the highest position among female candidates, while Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone was the general topper.
Shubham Kumar scored 330 points out of a potential 360, placing first in the Common Rank List (CRL).
Out of almost 1. 8 lakh applicants that took the exam, over 56,000 passed.
IIT Roorkee has released the CRL and category-wise merit lists, showcasing candidates’ performance in various categories, as well as their personal scorecards.
Shubham Kumar was at the top of the national rankings, according to the report. Kabir Chhillar and Jatain Chahar, both from the IIT Delhi zone, followed him, making it an extraordinary performance for the region.
Via the official JEE Advanced portal, candidates may see their results. In order to get their scorecard, students must sign in using their registered mobile number, date of birth, and registration or roll number.
Candidates have been instructed by officials to maintain a printed version of their scorecard, since it will be needed throughout the admissions and counselling procedure.
According to official figures, 1,87,389 individuals applied for JEE Advanced 2026, while 1,79,694 showed up for both tests held on May 17. A total of 56,880 candidates, including 10,107 female students, passed the test.
On the same day, the test was administered in two sessions. Centres throughout the nation hosted Paper 1 from 9 a. m. to 12 noon and Paper 2 from 2 p. m. to 5 p. m.
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), which are regarded as some of the most esteemed engineering institutions in India, offer undergraduate programmes that are accessible through JEE Advanced. The counselling and seat allocation process of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will now be open to eligible candidates.
All of the IITs, including those in Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Varanasi, and Dhanbad, accept the examination score.
