The Indian men’s cricket team is receiving a ton of support from their female counterparts as they prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The men’s squad has received passionate notes from members of the Indian women’s team, who made history by winning the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in 2025, wishing them well as they attempt to defend their title in the forthcoming competition.
The support from their female counterparts serves as a reminder of the unity and fraternity within Indian cricket, as the Indian men’s team enters the event as the reigning champions after defeating South Africa in an exciting final of the T20 World Cup 2024.
The Indian women’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, spearheaded the effort with a strong statement of encouragement. “Best wishes for the T20 World Cup to Team India. We all know you will win if you play with all of your heart and have fun. She exuded faith in the team’s skills and remarked, “Wishing all the luck.”
“Wishing the best for the Indian Team, looking really good, we all are looking forward to another cup,” said Smriti Mandhana, vice captain of her side and one of the biggest names in women’s cricket. Recognizing the great expectations for the men’s team, she said, “But no pressure, and hopefully we can play some good cricket.”
Deepti Sharma, who was voted Player of the Series and was instrumental in India’s ODI World Cup victory, expressed enthusiasm for the forthcoming event in India, giving her remarks a hint of emotional significance. “I’m wishing you all the best; this will be a very special event that takes place in India. The all-rounder emphasized the pride and fervor that come with a home World Cup by saying, “Go get the cup home.”
Recognizing the importance of the World Cup for both sides, India’s talented wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh also conveyed her best wishes to the men’s team. She encouraged everyone ahead of what seems to be a great competition by saying, “Good luck guys, I wish you all the very best for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.”
The Indian women’s side demonstrated that the spirit of Indian cricket is unified regardless of format or gender as they achieved history by winning the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup for the first time since the tournament’s start.
The women’s team is getting ready for their multi-format tour of Australia, which begins on February 15, while the Men in Blue prepare to begin their campaign against the USA on Saturday.
A three-game Twenty20 International series will kick off the Women in Blue’s tour, which will also include numerous One-Day Internationals and a single Test.
